Significant Opportunities in Atmospheric Research and Science

SOARS is an undergraduate-to-graduate bridge program for science, math, engineering, and social science students interested in understanding the atmosphere and using that understanding to improve life on Earth.  SOARS provides up to four years of paid summer research, mentoring, community support, and funding for undergraduate and graduate education.  The Program mission is to broaden participation by engaging students from groups historically underrepresented in science.

Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve in New Hope, Pennsylvania offers a summer internship to qualified applicants wishing to learn about native plants and public gardens. 

  • Native plant propagation
  • Interpretation & public education
  • Groundskeeping & trail maintenance
  • Field trips to public gardens, native plant nurseries & natural areas
  • Individual research/work project
  • 40-hour week; $8.00/hour

NASA Undergraduate Research

NASA’s Undergraduate Student Research Program is currently accepting applications for 10-week summer 2008 internships. These internships offer students the opportunity to work alongside NASA scientists and engineers at NASA's centers, laboratories and test facilities.  Must be a U.S. citizen and a college sophomore, junior or senior in engineering, mathematics, computer science or physical or life sciences.

The Motivating Undergraduates in Science and Technology Project, awards scholarships and internships to undergraduate students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, also known as STEM fields. The MUST Project is open to all undergraduate students and is particularly focused on engaging students from underserved and underrepresented groups to enter STEM fields.
